If you breed a lop and non lop, what are the babies like?

It should depend on genetics. I'm not sure if any of those genes are dominant or recessive but it would probably depend on the background of both rabbits. I'm currious to see if any breeders chime in with dominant recessive gene info, genetics really interest me.

    Are rabbits gereally healthy?

Thanks for all the replies so far guys! It really helps, I just don't want to go into this expecting perfect health or being constantly worried something will go wrong. Would you say if you get a rabbit from a reputable breeder they have better health in general? I want to adopt but I'm just...

    Are rabbits gereally healthy?

I hope this is in the right spot, I'm still getting used to this forums layout. I am new to the rabbit world and I don't have one yet. I own a couple rats and in the few years that I've had them I have spent easily $1000 or more a year on a single rat (I had a sick one with very poor genetics...

High risk of allergies to different breeds?

Those are cute! I'm definitely going to petco tomorrow to see what kind of bunnies show up.

High risk of allergies to different breeds?

Yea when I looked for pictures of rex lops I really found nothing. While rex rabbits are very cute they don't appeal to me quite as much as a lop. I saw some at a shelter that looked more like jack rabbits. I will have to see what I find at my shelter.

    New to the rabbit world

Oh that's right! I volunteer at a shelter that rents out space in the back of a petco (used to be a doggy day camp) and I remember hearing their add for the event. I will have to check that out :)

    New to the rabbit world

I'm not sure what kind of rabbit I will be getting. I love lop's but fate has pushed me towards an angora rabbit so we will have to see what happens. I have another thread going about allergies with different breed of rabbit so that's also helping me decide. I will definitely adopt 100% there...

High risk of allergies to different breeds?

Right now I'm leaving it up to fate if I get this specific rabbit or not. The shelter is a no kill shelter so no worries there! living at my moms will be temporary as I'm moving into an apartment over summer or maybe in fall (depending on how much my mom cries when I start to leave). She doesn't...

High risk of allergies to different breeds?

The reason I am considering an angora rabbit is because I know some one who had to get rid of theirs and she's in a shelter right now. I've been told she is very sweet, litter trained, and 2 years old. I want to have a rabbit that is sweet and loving so I'm really considering this rabbit. She...

High risk of allergies to different breeds?

The bunny I'm considering is already litter trained so that will help. I am worried about it being more work having to groom the bunny every day. By clipping the rabbit do you mean getting them shaved? I'm completely new to the idea of a long haired rabbit.

High risk of allergies to different breeds?

Hi I'm new to rabbits and the forum. I don't have a rabbit yet and I'm trying to get all my questions answered before I get one. I may be adopting a french angora bunny in April/May and I was wondering if anyone has experienced more allergies to this breed because of the long fur. Have any of...

    New to the rabbit world

Hi everyone! I don't have a rabbit yet and I have never had one before so this is all new to me. I've been reading articles and links I've found on the forum so far. I want to make sure I'm well educated before getting my bunny! I plan to get my bunny after I sign a lease for an apartment. I'm...
