    Rabbit Safe Trees

Is "Hard Sugar Maple" a safe tree wood to give rabbits, for a chew toy? We have a relative who chopped a chemical-freetree & cut some pieces for our house buns. I only found apple & pear on the safe list, so far. Anyone know?:coolness: Thanks!! Heidi

    Injury Advice??

He hadn't useda bottlebefore he came to us, but he has been using it some now. I've stillbeen giving him a smallbowl because he drinks the entirebowl in a day! I worried he wouldn't drink as much out of the bottle. Do you think he would drink what he needs out of it now that he has learned to...

    Injury Advice??

Thanks for the advice! I will try the betadine & Neosporin startingtoday. It is right on his "upper lip." Will it matter if he licks it? It looked pretty good this morning, dry, no drainage at all, no swelling that I could tell. Someone recommended "Blucote" yesterday, so I tried that after...

    Injury Advice??

I'm at work, so I haven't seen it yet, but I just got a call that our 3 y/o petfemale Hotot bit our new baby male Flemish Giant. It sounds like she stuck her snout through the cage & bit him just below & to the side ofhis nose & took a chunk, maybe the size of a pinky fingernail. The fur is...

Help With Bad Litter Box Habits??

Our female Netherland Dwarf is about 3 yrs. old & spayed. We adopted her from another family this past winter & I think she's just always been allowed to have these litter habits. Before we had her, she had a litter box that she usd, but also used the floor of the cage, so they always just...

    New Pet Flemish Giant

Yikes. Now I'm going to worry about him & will definitely keep a close eye on him. I'm afraid Ididn't know enough about baby bunnies before I jumped into this, we've only had adults. I'm surprised the family selling them did it this early. Glad you guys are here! He's only eating...

    New Pet Flemish Giant

We got him from a family in a nearby town who is raising them. I thought 7 wks. sounded a bit young, but I read somewhere else that 6 wks. is okay??:?He has been eating hay & pellets very well & drinking lots of water since we got him last night, so seems like he will do great. Also lots of...

    New Pet Flemish Giant

Thanks for the tips. I'm going to read up on "teaching your rabbit to not nip." Our two females are quite nippy. But this little guy seems pretty laid back. We've had a few rabbits over the years, but this is the first we've had one as a baby.

    New Pet Flemish Giant

I'm sure this has been asked often, but I have no idea...when do you have baby boy bunnies neutered? Ours is about seven weeks old & we plan to have him "fixed." Thanks!!

    Adding new pet Flemish Giant

That's funny. And I suppose when he is twice her size, she might rethink her bossiness!!:P

And we'll eventually be getting him neutered.

    Adding new pet Flemish Giant

I suppose his cage being in a room where she spends most of her time doesn't help either...we may have to do a little rearranging.

    New Pet Flemish Giant!!

I'll have to work on that!

    Adding new pet Flemish Giant

We just got a new Flemish Giant buck last night. He seems vey comfortable & happy so far. He'll just be a house rabbit, along with our female Hotot & Netherland Dwarf, so I'm in hopes that over time they will get along. But, for right now, our Hotot is being a terible bully. She always has been...
