My pet dwarf hotot rabbit is litter boxed trained which I am super happy about. Only problem is she is constantly chewing on the box (as rabbits do) but it's super loud and my roommate has been complaining :(
What can I switch to so that the noise won't be so loud?? Or something she won't try to chew? Trying to reduce the tension. Thanks!

I agree with the bitter apple, or if that doesn't deter her try rubbing a plain bar of ivory soap on the edges of the box.

I had a rabbit that would lick the bitter apple off of anything I sprayed it on. So they all have different tastes that they respond to.

Some people use hot sauce to deter chewing, but I would read further to find out if there are any ingredients you should avoid that might be in hot sauce. Luckily I haven't personally had to try hot sauce for my bunnies :p so I haven't really researched it.

Our first rabbits completely destroyed countless plastic litter boxes. To the point where there was nothing left but the flat bottom.

If you stop her from chewing the box, make sure you give her something she can chew that might be quieter. Maybe something wooden. She has to keep those teeth in shape.

if u put hay in the litterbox..keep in mind that whatever u try to spray or coat the edge with will get on their hay too...prob not a good idea...there are so many litterbox designs out there that id go buy a couple of em and try em out...i have buns that would chew on a certain thickness of the litterbox..but when i bought a thicker one they didnt chew it....also once they break an edge on the plastic that keeps them obsessively chewing at it..if its a new one sometimes that will stop them ...give them something else to chew on ..like more hay ..or apple sticks...i wedge a big apple tree stick in the corner of all my buns cages and they love it..just make sure its wedged in their so they can chew it without it moving around....you have a bored bunny ...find other things for her to occupy her time...like hay.:)
