I always have hay hanging in Lola's cage, she has a hanging chew toy made of maze i think it also has nuts in it plus she has a wooden dangly thing too. So why is it these seem to be untouched, but when she's let out of her cage she chews the carpet :dunno. While she's out of her cage the door remains open so she can go back in at any time. I'm obviously doing something wrong, is she unhappy (she doesn't seem to be). How can i stop her?? Please help me if you can. I'm worried that she might get the carpet tangled up in her tummy.:)Thnk u.

Some rabbits just like chewing carpet. (Gus does! :p) He mostly does it for attention or when he's bored. Maybe she wants you to play with her?

To stop it, I have some old sheets I lay over the place where he likes to chew. He has a blast digging and chewing the old sheets and I don't have to worry about the carpet getting ruined.

Hope that helps!

mine will chew on the carpet when they're upset or bored, but they never pull case they know better.

give them some cardboard boxes and cut out a small hole so they can chew on it and stay out of trouble. and swtich out the toys in the cage because they will get bored so dont give them all at once

Bayou chews and eats the carpet just to spite me, I think. I've tried every suggestion and then some and he's just more interested in the carpet.

Thank you all. I have other things for her to play with. I think it may just be as Jessyka said and she wants to chew the carpet. I was worried that the ends may get caught in her tummy. I'm not bothered about the damage to the carpet as it's old. I thought i may change it for lino anyway, either that or attatch a run to her cage. It's not the same though. Thanks again :biggrin2:
