So I started a thread about how aggressive my french lop is and how she bit me this morning because I stopped petting her.

It's a possibiliy she is pregnant because she jumped out of the NIC cage (which was 3 panels high) and my male free roams. He was fixed a couple days before but this would have been the 25th of Nov.

Any advice on french lops would be appreciated, I know my breeder friends french lops weren't the best mom

I had a french lop break a hutch door to mate with my free roaming male, maybe it's a french lop thing?!! But she was very aggressive with me, and it was my first litter and i joined here panicking because she was aggressive and i asked would she make a bad mum.... well it turned out she was brilliant, patient with me checking on them and adored her babies, she now lives with some of her male babies and she loves them, they even lie on her to this day so i hope this makes you feel a little better. :pinkbouce:

Thanks :) I'm hoping she's not pregnant and just in a bad mood. But ya, I've heard stories about french lops and breeding. Lol.

Do I need to make a wooden breeder box or can I use a seperate litter box and put newspaper in there for her?

Should I put her in a different room from my male?

What other things do I need to do to prepare

A clean empty litter box should work just fine for her. You want the box to be big enough for her to get in and turn around, so about an inch or two bigger than her in all dimensions.

Put some shavings or another soft litter in the bottom, and then stuff the rest of the box with hay. She should start re-arranging the hay to make a nest if she's pregnant, or she may decide not to until the babies are born (if she is pregnant).

Make sure she's getting lots of hay and maybe give her a bit more pellets just in case and that she's drinking lots of water.

There is not a whole lot you can do except watch her carefully. Keep an eye on her until about 36 days after her last contact with the male. So, sometime after Christmas and New Years. If she doesn't have any by New Years day, I would say you are in the clear and she wasn't pregnant.
