hi all

i had this problem with lucy about a month ago

tony my hubby has gone out as he goes fishing

so lucy went into her cage at 9..00 pm

i have just checked her

as all i could hear was her digging and it was as if she was tap dancing in her cage

i have had to give her some alfaalfa to try and carm her down

she bodily moves her litter tray with her teeth

any help would be great

varna xxxxn

My rabbit moves her litterbox all the time withher teeth and head. She likes to redecorate :D She also digs into thelitter. I usally try to pet her to calm down. I think the behavior isnormal or atleast she does it pretty often. Hope that helps Varna!

Sounds like she's being a bunny.

She probably wants back out. If that's the case, she's justletting you know she's not happy, but it won't hurt her. Lether have her tantrum.

If she's just doing it when she's in her cage generally, it's just her way and that's just sometimes what bunnies do.

Bo sometimes will just rip cardboard to shreds while he is standing onit! He's so loud about it he's actually caused my husband andIto wake up. He pulls the cardboard and rips andthen the rest falls down onto the floor of the cage and slaps!

We just ignore him when he's like that.

I drill two small holes in appropriate locationsand wire the litter box(corner type)to the rungs of the cage, sobunny(ies) cannot fling it all about.

I haven't found a solution to them digging and scrabbling the litter out of the box, yet.

I place a screen over top of the litter so bunnydoesn'tget in it. The poo sits on top makingclean-up easier.

I use heavier bowls and weight everything down so Pebbles can't move them.

Rainbows! :D

She sounds like a normal bunny. Mineall do this. To prevent them from moving their litter boxes,I have the corner type that actually have kind of like a screw and boltattached to them. They are made by Super Pet and are called:Long John Hi Side Litter Pans. They are a great shape andsize. Elvis is too big for many of the corner type of boxes, but he fits well in these. Marshall's/Peter's makes a new boxthat is square, but has the same kind of attachment. You canget both fromhttp://www.rabbitstop.com

They also have clips that you can use to attachthe litterbox to the cage and keep it stable. I would alsosuggest getting a little cardboard box or untreated wicker basket andputting some hay/shredded paper in there and she will most likely enjoydigging in there! Good luck

I agree I think she is being a bunny and havingtantrums but she could be bored. Have you tried giving her some toys toplay with, any little plastic container will do.

Have the same problem with Shadow, she isspoiled! and when its time to visit the cage she throws bowls, toys, litter box and does some nasty things that I have to clean up (alotof). Yes, its a full blown tantrum, I believe:)
