February 8th is my one year anniversary to my boyfriend.

Any ideas on what to do for him/get him?

Also, what are ya'll doing for Valentines Day?

Hmmm.... I'm not good on presents because my other half is the most difficult to buy for ever...

Also, I find that gestures are much nicer and more meaningful than spending money on a gift- my friend once got her boyfriend a DVD he wanted for Valentine's Day- I could never understand it- where's the romance in that?!

I don't have any money either this year so for Valentine's Day I think I'm going to cook a nice romantic meal :) And a card of course. Could you do something like that maybe? Cook his favourite food?

I haven't planned my menu completely yet, but I do know that I'm going to make a heart-shaped chocolate cake! And decorate it with chocolate icing and heart stuff :) (Sssshhhh! Don't tell him! I know he's on the board but he doesn't look in LYHD lol :p)

I'm terrible with gift ideas. Jason and I rarely get each other gifts anymore, because it has gotten to where he asks for one thing he's been wanting and I ask for one thing I've been wanting, and we get each other those things. Not very exciting or romantic at all.

(That's how his whole family does all their gift giving, and it is just awful to me. I don't see the point.)

I used to get him a nice bottle of Scotch, but I've done that to death.

This year, we will probably go out to dinner, then to a movie.
We usually have sushi on special occasions, at the sushi place where we had our first "date."
We never see movies at the theater, so it's a date-night kind of thing for us, too. I want to see Coraline.

Not too exciting, I'm afraid!

I'm terrible with advice about romance, being a non-romantic person. Mathew isn't romantic at all either. We tend to yell "eeewww!" when we see soppy love scenes in a movie :p.

My only suggestions would be of the R18 kind so not very appropriate! :?

Anyway, I thought it was the man who was meant to do all the soppy love stuff for the woman on anniversaries/valentines day? Or do I just watch too much TV?

Four our 7th anniversary we cooked dinner together which was fun but then continued on the evening as per usual.

How about some movie gift cards??? I dont know I'm not good with that stuff. My husband and I buy things all the time when we want them so no romance here anymore.. lol

Well my son's b-day is Feb 11th. He will be 3. We are having his parth on Valentines day. Its actually neat because he also came home from the hospital on Valentines Day so it will always be a special day to me.

ooh valentines day.....This is my first that I actually have a boyfriend for and I'm allready over all the consumerism and how all shops do is want you to spend money. Sadly Joe won't be receiving anything, I'm like completely broke and will be till April haha. I don't expect anything either. Anyway what is your boyfriend into? Cars, bikes, rabbits :p? you could get him a new book, treat or part?

Well I have a boyfriend now :p But I have 2 shows on Valentines day and theres this little boy who loves me :S Thats going to be fun considering I'm going be with him all day!!!

I've gotten my boyfriend a silly gift that he will enjoy, but that he doesn't really need - just something nice. I've also booked us at a bed and breakfast in town for two nights, so we'll get our own special room and stuff for friday and saturday next week :) it should be nice.

I've told him that I want my valentine's gift to be for him to turn his phone off for an hour or two (or more!) he's always getting calls about work and texts from random people and it bugs me :p
