Molting or something else?

I was sitting with my bun today and I noticed the hair on both sides of him, kind of by his hips is quite scarce. I can notice an indent on both sides from just looking at him (he is long-haired). This is his first molt since I’ve had him. Is this normal or should i be concerned? We were just at the vet two weeks ago because he had some dry skin on his ears and the vet said that it could be a bad molt. He gave me some essential oils and revolution just in case it was mites. He definitely is shedding quite a bit, so I’m assuming this is just him molting, but wanted to ask just in case. Thanks!

Hi, this is right time for molting, two of my rabbits started already so most likely he's just molting and will have a new pretty coat soon.

This is relatively normal. Especially that area - by the hips - tends to look the worst during molting.
