My boy is almost 10, seems fine in every way except tonight we noticed that his testicles have a white scab like appearance covering most of them. I have already scheduled a vet appt asap but curious if anyone knows what this is.

Never heard of it, but they may be small abseses or some illness in result of him not being nurtured.

When I think of scabs/skin issues around the genitals, I think of rabbit syphilis, which is curable with medication. An experienced rabbit vet will know about it.

Took him to the vet, it is ringworm. We have no idea though how he could have gotten it. He stays indoors all the time and it's never with other pets. The vet thinks it could possibly have been on the hay?

I'm glad you got an answer! It could be possible. My rabbit randomly contracted ringworm months ago and he is also always indoors with no other animals. It is a notoriously persistent and hardy fungal infection floating around and landing on random surfaces, so it may be impossible to figure out where it came from.
