I finally was able to trim all three of my rabbits' nails by myself! It feels like such an accomplishment! We got our first two rabbits last July and then our third in October, but it has been a struggle for me to learn to trim their nails in all this time. My daughter used to help me, but she said it was too hard and didn't want to do it anymore. :grumpy: My husband cut the quick once and was too afraid to try again so I had to suck it up and learn to do it by myself. I must admit I couldn't get all the dewclaws, but maybe next time!

Wow that's really great! I wish I could trim Sophie's nails by myself:(

Wish i could too! But my bunnies are untranceable for some reason, they'd just bite and wiggle free.

Congrats! I clip my bunnies nails by myself. Clear nails are easier than black nails to clip. The first time that I clipped Sweetie's nails, I had the vet show me, only clipped the quick once. Been clipping her nails ever since and never clipped the quick again.

Congrats, that's an awesome acheivement!! :D

lol, men are such babies!! :p

I struggle with the dew claws too, I find it difficult to pull them far enough away from the paw to get the clipper around the nail, but practice makes perfect.

CONGRADULATIONS!!! I couldn't be able to trim my rabbits nails, I don't have the steady hands. So, we just go to the VET to get it done there.

i have to set aside a day every month or 2 to trim all 12 of my rabbits nails. i often finish with new scars to add to my collection on my arm. :panic:

UPDATE! It was time for another nail trimming today. It went well, even easier than the first time. I was able to get the dewclaw this time.

I re-watched my favorite nail trimming video first:

HototMama: I was wearing a long-sleeved fleece jacket with long cuffs I made from old socks and had some leather gloves that I used on and off, but I still managed to get scratched at the very end! They just couldn't let me get away without something!:brat:
