:) hey guys.
just wondering if anyone will be able to tell me if baby rabbits can be fed "too much"?
I am looking at my baby bunny, and it looks so well fed with huge tummy. is there an extent where the baby is "too fat"?
hey guys, just thought I would give a quick update on what's going on.
baby is still doing very well :) opened it's eyes 2 days ago (on day 11).. and has been moving around more when I'm checking it.. he hasn't come out of the nest box by himself as of yet though..
1) does anyone know when...
hi guys.. got a question :) I've read in some articles that when there are baby rabbits, it would be best to use drinking bottles (instead of bowls). the reason given was that if using bowls, there may be a chance that the babies will fall into the water or get hypothermia because they get wet...
seems like it is very similar coloured to the father.. so from what I can see at the moment.. agouti chocolate?
but this is the first time dealing with baby bunnies, so I could be wrong since the fur hasn't completely grown out yet..
was just wondering for my newborn.
so the dad is an agouti chocolate netherland dwarf cross with black nails and mum is chinchilla pure netherland dwarf with black nails..
I've noticed the little baby's nails are clear/white at the moment (day8).. this won't change colour anymore aye?
hey guys :) I've been trying to research online with no luck in finding an answer to this..
is there a nail colour that rabbits are "supposed" to have? I have read that for showing purposes.. certain rabbits need to have certain nail colours..
does anyone have any extra information regarding...
it's day 5 now and seems like everything is still on track :) so happy that baby bunny is still coping despite being alone! also on the up side, baby bunny is well fed and has a full belly each time I check it, so seems like mummy bunny is doing a good job too.
thanks everyone for the support :)
hey shell, thanks for your reply. yes I have found actually mummy bunny doesn't mind if I check on her baby. she's very calm and settled during the whole process :)
have you bred before? :)
I'm not bugging them :( just checking up on it daily to only make sure everything is ok with it.
thanks myjuneangel.. glad to know that it's not only my kit that is so active :) love hearing other peoples experiences to know what happens ...
thanks guys for all your help :) I will continue to post photos of my baby's progress to update you guys. hopefully there won't be many problems ..
I am very interested in the colour genetics though. if anyone has any extra information, I would really appreciate it :)
hi there, I am very interested in the colour genetics of netherland dwarfs and was wondering if anyone has any information regarding this?
are there any articles or would anyone be able to explain it to me a bit?
thanks so much in advance. I can't stress how much this forum has helped me...
are colours genetic?
because the buck is brownish agouti colour (unsure if that's what it's called) and doe is the one in my display photo.
can they still produce a black otter colour baby? :)
