    Dealing with grief and guilt

I'm so sorry for your loss. Binky free little Joey. We lost our little bun Beatrix just before Thanksgiving, and I still feel like it was my fault... she broke her back kicking during a nail trim, even though we had her in a bunny burrito like always to be safe. We rushed her to our best...

    is baby bunny sick? help!

You mention your bunny is about 3 months old - she could be starting her very first moult. As an angora / jersey wooly, she'll likely moult every 3 months or so, which could explain the short (but not thinned) hair along her back, as that's the hair that seems to go first (at least in my...

    Traveling with your Bunny

We do 8 hour car trips to visit our families a couple times a year, and our Beatrix travels surprisingly well! She travels in a carrier just like the one Korr_and_Sophie posted, with the solid bottom. We use clip on food and water dishes, and the puppy pads to line the bottom of the carrier...

    Angora help

My English Angora, Beatrix, does best with grooming on a grooming table. She likes sitting on laps, but it's always on *her terms* otherwise she can be a squiggly little thing and it's impossible to get matts out with a wiggly bunny! There are a bunch of places out there that sell rabbit...

Pics of 2 bunnies that need homes in pittsburgh area

I moved away from Pittsburgh a couple years ago, but still have many friends there - just sent out a tweet to see if anyone can help! Fingers crossed... :)

    Your nick-names!

My name's Beatrix... but most call me Bea. 'Cept momma. She calls me Tinky LeBon mostly. Says it's my fancy French name. But I'm English! When I'm bad she calls me HEYDINGUS! And poppa calls me Da Bunneh and Lunch hheheehee

    Do your buns play games?

Beatrix plays what I like to call "Toro!" If I hold up and shake one of her blankies (or a towel, or a scarf, etc.), bullfighter style, she'll run right for it and then under it, pushing it with her face and ears, like a little 4 pound bull. And she'll turn right back around and do it again...

    Off Her Pellets?

Thanks everyone for the help! I'm very happy to say the Pellet Protest has been lifted! Of course, this was after a trip to the grocery last night to procure the biggest and tastiest-looking box of fancy mixed variety leafy greens I could find, thinking this protest would continue, and...

    Is Brie... molting?

Katielovesleo3 - Don't be afraid to groom :) I've found with my bun that it's really more like a bonding experience as long as you go slow and gentle. I know I've plucked Bea too long when she gets really squirmy, and she'll pout in her hutch the rest of the day, but with short gentle sessions...

    Off Her Pellets?

Thanks for the replies everyone! I did try putting some teeny bites of dried papaya (her extra special treat) on top, and she won't even touch it on top of the pellet, but she'll take it from my hand just fine. Tried to trick her too by offering a bite of papaya, then a pellet by hand. No go...

    Off Her Pellets?

Thanks whitelop... that's a bit of a relief. More greens it is! She really seems to enjoy them anyway. Thinking of breaking out my little scale (I have one for measuring beeswax and the like for making bath products) and plopping her on it to make sure she stays of good weight... sometimes...

    Is Brie... molting?

Is your bun developing any bald spots, or is it just overall shedding? I would think bald spots would be of concern, but if it's even and all over, it's probably a moult. I have an English Angora that moults every 3 months - regardless of seasonality - and when that fluff starts getting...

    Off Her Pellets?

Some additional info that may be helpful: Beatrix is 8 months old Pellet is Select Series Manna Pro (she has eaten this her whole life)

    Off Her Pellets?

Hi there! My bun Beatrix has been "off her pellets" for about 3 days now. She's chowing hay like normal (maybe even a little more than normal), poops are fine and plentiful, she's her normal binkygirl self except for no longer eating her pellets. I gave her some basil (her very favorite)...

    Holiday Travel with Bunny

Just wanted to thank everyone for the great advice - we made the 8 hour trip up to our hometown for the week last night and Bea did great! She was a little cranky last night, but today she's all settled in and her normal binky silly self :) I actually ended up getting crafty and getting one...
