    Neutering cost

I think it really depends on where you live. Here in Vancouver we got it done for $135, plus $65 for a mandatory pre-checkup. I thought the neutering price was fair compared to what we paid for our cats, though the checkup price was a bit much imo. But yeah, I heard prices differ greatly...

Need some cage size help for a flemish!

We have our already 8.5 pounds (and growing) French Lop in a 3 by 3 feet xpen as shown in the picture. We had to cover the top with chicken wire because he figured out he could jump over it only a few weeks after we got him. He gets to roam the house during the day though and is only really...

The Silly Things We Do For Our Buns

Haha I can imagine! I'm still not confident enough to do it with our bun (plus we don't have a car), also simply because he's massive (French Lop) and can be be a bit hard to handle sometimes! But yeah, my boyfriend loves it when rabbits come into his store!

The Silly Things We Do For Our Buns

I was wondering, do you take your rabbit on a leash to the store, or in a carrier and then let him out? I would really love to take our bun out and about but he's still young and we've only really taken him outside once, which was just in our back ally. My boyfriend works in a pet store though...

List the top two mistakes you've made as a beginner.

I did a lot of research before bringing Fudge home, so even though I still learn everyday, I've managed to avoid any major mistakes! I agree on the adoption though. We've only had Fudge for a few months, but I feel kinda guilty for getting him from a breeder and not getting one from a shelter...

    Rabbit pee

I was actually wondering about pee too.. Our bun is only 4 months old (French Lop) and his pee actually never smells. I was wondering if this is normal for younger bunnies and if this will change once he becomes sexually mature? We're having him neutered as soon as he's old enough anyway, but I...

    cat and rabbits?

We have 2 cats, one is 1,5 year old, the other almost 1. My 4 months old French Lop has been interested in them since the day we got him and he often hops around after them, trying to sniff and lick them! At first the cats would just run off scared, unsure of what he was. But they were always...

    Calm, relaxed breed of bunny?

We have a French Lop, which is also a larger breed and from what I've read they're one of the more docile breeds as well. Our Fudge is still a toddler though and he's our first rabbit so I don't have too much to compare to, but he's really friendly, easy to handle, and kind of lazy sometimes :D

    Candles?

How about incense? Would that be any better/worse?

New bunny questions - diet & living with cats

Oh wow, that's definitely worth a longer trip then! And yeah, I read they can be quite picky, haha! That's also why I want to start mixing hays, so he doesn't get picky about only wanting alfalfa.. Thanks a lot! :D Btw, I gave him 1 cup of pellets at 9pm last night. It's now 5pm the next day...

What should I do for my rabbit?

Regarding the frozen bottles.. We use those big, flat, freezer packs you use in cooling containers, you know the ones you take camping and stuff. I'll wrap it in a towel that's not too thick and Fudge will lie right on top of it all day! :D We currently use one that's water filled. We also got...

New bunny questions - diet & living with cats

Thanks so much, I had no idea about the hay! I'll make sure to keep it ventilated from now on. And that's a great idea about the horse quality hay too. I'm going to try and find a store nearby, though being in the middle of the city is probably not going to help.. How long does hay stay good...

New bunny questions - diet & living with cats

Thank you both :) I wouldn't say he's getting fat or anything, he's still a baby and even though he's already huge, I expect him to still double in size. I don't actually measure out how much I give him, so I'll make a note of that when his bowl is empty, give him 1 cup, and see how long that...

New bunny questions - diet & living with cats

Our bunny Fudge (french lop) has been living with us for 2 weeks now (he's 10 weeks old) and things are generally going well, though I have a few questions.. 1. How much hay should he be eating? I give him unlimited alfalfa hay but he doesn't seem to eat much of it. He also gets unlimited...
