I use cardboard boxes and covered cat litter boxes with blankets in them. The buns seem to enjoy both.

I'm suspicious that a vet even examined or treated that bunny. For some odd reason I don't believe the story.
I'm willing to bet the people who owned him were trying to "neuter" him themselves and in the struggle the bunny broke his leg : (

I keep mine in the shed on a pallet (so there is air flow underneath) I would keep the hay covered by a tarp if there is a chance of it getting wet. Also keeping it out of direct sunlight is a good idea as well.
Your crocheted bunnies are adorable! I think its an awesome idea to make them special order and sell them here (we certainly have lot's of bunny lovers who I'm sure would love to have one of their own) :happybunny:

Ofcourse not much you can do if they refuse but I'm always a bit surprised to hear someone not feeding it :confused2:
I have found small dead snakes in some of my hay bales over the years. It's bound to happen while the hay is being cut and baled. Better to have a bug or two rather than weeds, prickers or mold ; )
