Any experience of an enlarged heart

Oh bless him poor little man. Narla has an enlarged heart and now suspected thymoma I’m unsure if the two things are connected but it’s not sounding good. She is well at the moment and hasn’t lost any weight so if we are going to try and do something now is the time. Unfortunately we don’t have...

Any experience of an enlarged heart

Hi @JBun Narla’s x-rays were looked at by a specialist vet and they have suggested a referral consultation and Heart MRI scan as he was suspicious about thymoma. If you don’t mind me asking were you given any treatment options for your little one that was affected by this? I feel so conflicted...

Any experience of an enlarged heart

Thank you for the info JBun I feel gutted at the moment as she was sedated to have her x-rays and also teeth done as they thought they were sharp and could be causing her pain. Given her health otherwise the vet was extremely shocked to find what they did on the x-rays. I feel like in trying to...

Any experience of an enlarged heart

Hi, Sadly one of our bunnies Narla was diagnosed with an enlarged heart. I was wondering if anyone else has any experience with this that they could share. We had her investigated due to her third eye lids showing at unusual times but that was her only symptom. Thank you

Does anyone use puppy pads with their rabbits or could suggest other alternatives to newspaper??

Yes we tried to remove the paper once he’d had his stone removed to try and encourage him back in to the box but he still went in the same spot next to the tray. I bought some puppy pads and used them for the first time last night they have not been chewed (hooray!). They are quite good as...

Help with cleaning a dirty bottom

Thanks Jbun those pages were very helpful. It’s his first time with a dirty bum, our vet checked him on Friday and said it looked like a grooming issue causing him a problem so she checked his teeth and said he had minor spurs but didn’t think they would be enough to stop him grooming. She...

Help with cleaning a dirty bottom

Hello! Sorry second post in two days from me! I just wondered if anyone could help with advice on cleaning a dirty bottom, mostly urine and a bit of dried poo. We had a go today using the method the vet suggested which was to soak cotton wool and wipe him down but honestly felt like we weren’t...

Does anyone use puppy pads with their rabbits or could suggest other alternatives to newspaper??

Thank you for your idea, unfortunately I would likely still have the same issue as he would be weeing directly on to the paper still. The paper takes a while to soak up urine so there is a point where he kind of ends up sitting in it. I’m looking for a replacement that has a more instant...

Does anyone use puppy pads with their rabbits or could suggest other alternatives to newspaper??

Hi blue eyes, The paper is laid flat on the floor around the litter box. Originally it was just just to catch any spills etc from the litter box but when Eden had his bladder stone he started using the paper instead of the tray ( this was actually how we realised something was wrong!). The...

Does anyone use puppy pads with their rabbits or could suggest other alternatives to newspaper??

Hi, I’m looking to find an alternative to newspaper that is more absorbent. Back in December one of my bunnies had to have a bladder stone removed and have never properly used the litter tray since. He tends to use newspaper but this is not very good and absorbing and he keeps getting urine on...

Acceptable time for bunnies to be kept in their carrier?

Thank you, that's a relief I don't really want to leave them unsecured while we show someone round.

Acceptable time for bunnies to be kept in their carrier?

Hello, We are currently trying to sell our house and need to contain our bunnies in their travel carrier while we tidy up and do the viewing. I was wondering how long they would be okay in their carrier. It could take around 1-2 hours will they be okay for this amount of time. Thank you 😊

    Urine outside of litter box

@brerrabbit thank you for your answer both bunnies have been neutered for a while now they are 3 years old, one will be 4 next month and they were done at 6 months old. I'm not sure how likely it is for neutered bunnies to scent mark but definitely common in buns that are not neutered.

    Urine outside of litter box

For the last few weeks I have found small amounts of wee outside of my bunnies litter box. I have two bunnies and couldn't work out which one it was. Both have had urine checks and x rays today which have not found anything wrong. The vet was expecting to find bladder stones or sludge as the...
