    Do rabbits need ramps?

I have a NIC cage that has a rampbut it takes up alot of room. I'd like to give her more room to hop. Is jumping from one level too hard on their backs if it a repeated motion? She is a standard sized adult dutch. Thanks

I never dreamed rabbits were so high maintance.

Thought I would post an update (incase someone else has issues in the future). She has not returned to her litter spot on the second floor (I didn't really want to put the box there because of the weight and it's difficult to get to). Seems that adding fresh hay to the litter box helped. And...

How can you tell if a rabbit is spayed?

We have a 18 month old rabbit from a rescue. We were told she was spayed (but didn't come with any paperwork, for example a health cert). We've had her just over a month. She is aggressive and very territorial of her cage. I'm just curious if there is a way to tell if a bun is spayed. I tried...

I never dreamed rabbits were so high maintance.

I really thought rabbits were going to be the perfect pet LOL, somewhere between a guinea pig and a cat. I was wrong. Our rescue bunny has some serious issues. She's a bitter, cage aggressive etc. But the one thing she had going for her was she was littler box trained. We've had her about 8...

    x pen secure bottom?

I picked up a piece of laminate (formica counter top) at the hardware store. I was able to get a piece that was cracked on the edge for about $12. It's thin, so you have to be care if you stand on it. It is a bit slick, so bun sometimes has traction issues, so I have several fleece blackets...

She's bit me hard! I'm jealous of the sweet ones I read about.

That's for giving us hope. It sounds like she needs more time and some laying down of the rules. We have had her for about a month. The hair has grown back on her belly from her spay, but I think the rescue lady commented that the hair was still a bit short (I'm not sure how long it takes for...

She's bit me hard! I'm jealous of the sweet ones I read about.

Weadopted from a rescue a 18 month old spayed female. She was quite sweet when we met her, sat on laps and walked on a harness. I was told she would be great with kids (ourshave good bunny manners)and loved to snuggle. She is indoors. We spend hours sittingon floor while hercage door is open and...

Any bad types of wood for buns?

We are building a ramp and stuff for our NIC cage. Are there any types of wood that aren't recommended since the bunny will most likely chew it. I know that apen isn't recommened for bedding. Is pine OK for the ramps? Is wood glue recommended over nails? Thanks

    How to stop a biter?

Thanks for all the tips. We haven't been picking her up (mostly out of fear LOL). We just sit on the floor, outside her cage, with the door open and talk to her. We have been letting her come up to us. I do think she is bossy. My daughter is just disappointed. She raised all the money...

    How to stop a biter?

We adopted a 18 month old female dutch last week. She was a rescue and is spayed. We read the "bonding with your bunny" thread, which is great, but I had to laugh at the "show no fear" idea. We are a bit afraid of this bun. She bites. We are ok with the little nibbles, but if you irritate her...

New bunny owner in Auburn WA

I've been spending hours reading this site, trying to learn more about bunnies. The bonding with your bunny thread explained so much. I thought we had done our research but there is so much more to learn. Thank you for all the information here. We just adopted an 18 month old rescued dutch. We...
