Bunny is very sweet but sometimes growls and tries to bite

@RavenousDragon I will have to try that: leaving surprise treats in the carrier without taking her somewhere against her will. I want her to think carrier = good. Your bunnies are lucky to have you and they've learned so many tricks! so far Butter knows "stand up", "jump" (over the tunnel), and...

Bunny is very sweet but sometimes growls and tries to bite

My bunny is 1 1/2 yrs old and was spayed a year ago. She's really sweet and affectionate and generally a good girl. The only time she growls and tries to bite my hand is if I try to get her in her carrier (by gently and quickly pushing her in) to take her outdoors for playtime (which she loves...

Thanks never thought of considering a different hay

    Hay Cubes

Is bentonite clay used in hay cubes safe for rabbits? I feed Butter regular Timothy hay but when my boyfriend takes care of her, he gets severe allergies to the hay. So we bought hay cubes and the seller said that the bentonite clay is safe for rabbits. Is this true?

    Letting bunny play outside

Thanks for the recommendations. Seems like Advantage is the popular choice here. Since I first posted, I went to the vet and they gave Butter Revolution. I took Butter outside several times since then, even to the park (pesticide free and with leashed dogs), and she really enjoys being outdoors...

    Nipples?

Noticed these little things on my bun today. I have a suspicion that they are nipples. I found 2 so far, one on each side. Is this a nipple? She is 5 months.

    Increased water and urination

Same thing happened to Butter last week when I decreased the pellets in her diet and she started eating more hay and veggies. She was noticeably peeing and drinking at least twice the amount she normally does. I was worried so we called our vet and they told us that it is probably because of...

    Excessive drinking and urination

Did your bunny stop drinking and peeing as much after you got the pellets? I noticed my bunny doing the same thing this week when I started limiting her pellets.

    Using Rabbit Droppings as Fertilizer

My mom uses Butter's poop as fertilizer for our fruit trees. She doesn't use them for our flowers though since she says they wouldn't work for flowers. She sprinkles the poop on top of the soil and just waters it after. She thinks it's helping our persimmon tree grow.

    Letting bunny play outside

I have let my bunny run in my yard a few times with an H-harness on. I want to let it become more of a regular thing for playtime but am wondering if I need to do anything to prevent fleas and mites. I've seen people online mentioning Advantage. Has anyone used this for prevention?

    Binkying space

My bunny is generally a happy bunny but I've noticed lately that she doesn't binky as much. I think it's because when we first got her 3 months ago, she stayed mostly at my boyfriend's place and since he has carpeted floor she could binky as her heart desired. But in the past 3 weeks she's...

Bunny's fur on face changed color and pattern

Thanks! Fur indentations can look really funny. It made her look grumpy last week. This week (10 weeks old), with her fur back to 90% normal, she is back to looking like a happy bunny :brownbunny I also noticed that her fur doubled in density/thickness after some light shedding. It feels really...

Excess Cecotropes and Choking on pellets

Her cecotropes are fortunately not mushy. Just the regular blackberry looking kinds. It probably had to do with her short attention span. She loves to explore and binky around when she's out of her pen. I think she was leaping around before she ate the pellets. That excitement must have caused...
