At almost 3 months? Or do they go by season and not age?

my almost 3 month old rabbit is growing weird patches on his back and the tips of his ears are darkening. Is this normal or cause for concern? I’m not sure if he is truly almost 3 months. I was told his birthday is November 7th,2018 but he had gotten big so fast!

His fur isn’t bright enough to be a New Zealand if I’m not mistaken. It’s more of an orange red. He is much lighter.
