How to tell if a bunny is deaf?

I think Guinness is deaf. He doesn't respond to noises sometimes. If I come in and he's doing something he doesn't hear me and I usually scare him. Although when I make noise with trash bags or plastic bags he gets kind of scared. I dont know if it's from the noise or the bag itself. How can I...

    Guinness barely eats his hay

Is it normal for Guinness to barely eat hay? He doesn't seem to care much about it. I always have a lot of hay for him. It usually takes him to eat a handful about 2-3 days. He was a year old when I got him and his original owners never fed him any hay. They didn't even know they were supposed...

    Breeding

woahlookitsme wrote: I don't much about FFA rabbits other than they're all over craigslist so these people's kids show em then they dont need em so the parent gets rid of it which is what happened with my rabbit. I know when you raise livestock for FFA you either sell it to the...

    Breeding

You all have given me some really good information. Thank you :) and I can't show him for FFA. I'm in FFA but in my section/division you can only raise livestock (cattle, goat, sheep, pig). Showing rabbits is more for younger FFA members and you can't show a rabbit over a year old I believe (not...

Bonded with me... issues bonding with other buns?

I have a question: how did you get Crush to bond with you? I have Holland lop too but he hasnt warmed up to me like I thought he would. Hes really sweet but not very affectionate. I feel like he has the capacity to be affectionate but I dont know how to motivate him since he is not very food driven.

Yeah your right Lisa. Im glad I came here first before making a decision because I was really on the fence about it.

    Breeding

Your right Kate. I dont think I know enough about breeding and I think the risks are too high. Also my reasons arent good enough for any of the possible consequences. Ive started to fall in love with the Holland Lop breed and I think instead of breeding him Im going to find another way to get...

    Breeding

One reason why I would breed him would be to make some extra cash to put towards his neutering and another reason is because around here Hollands are starting to gain a lot of popularity both for show and as a pet. I have quite a few friends who would be willing to buy one of Guinness's babies...

    Confused about my bunny

Guinness does the same thing. He runs back in as soon as possible. I found a solution to the loud noises the bottom of his cage makes. I made this pillowcase for a fashion design class and i made it too big so I wrapped it around the wire bottom and now hes got a nice soft floor :)

    Breeding

I'm wondering what your views are on breeding. I have a 1 year old purebred Holland Lop buck who was a show rabbit for FFA before I got him. He is really handsome and he has a really sweet disposition. I havent gotten him neutered yet because its going to cost a lot and Im saving up for it...

    Confused about my bunny

My camera is being hokey so this is the closest I could find to his cage. His is red and it's alittle longer than this one. The bottom tray/wire mesh and front cage door are the same though. Also the ramp is gone because he just knocks it over. And when I clean out his cage the whole bottom...

    Confused about my bunny

It's my spare bedroom but I go in there every morning to make sure everythings okay then when I come home I go and check on him again. Then after dinner I usually do my hw in there for an hour or two. Then I check on him again before I go to bed. His cage is metal so whenever he moves it makes a...

    Confused about my bunny

I got my holland lop back in early june. his cage is my spare bedroom and Ive kept his cage door open since I got him. I never close it. he's never come out of his cage on his own. he's not shy towards me so I don't understand why he wont come out. I've tried everything. I wonder if its cuz he...
