Hi, my rabbit Timi has what appears to be a blot clot in a vein in her ear, and one side of the vein beside the clotting is thickened and dark. There is reddening in the ear area surrounding it. When I tried to massage the clot with my fingers, it felt like there was an air bubble. Though she's not acting abnormally, I'm worried. Should I be? Has anyone else experience this?

Please see attachedpicture. Thanks.

Hi :)

I had a similar thing in one of my rabbits ears once, he grew two of them. The vet wasn't too sure but she said they looked like tiny abcesses, and she lanced them but nothing really came out.

Over the weeks/months they hardened and disappeared. Now there is just a teeny little scar where each one was.

This is not abnormal. Usually happens when they get nipped by their "mate".
I would keep an eye on it but, I would not be overly concerned.
Charlotte
