Indoor then outdoor now indoor again?

Whether or not they are kept inside or out isn't as big of an issue as keeping them together. If they are bonded you cannot separate them! Bonded rabbits when split up can become depressed very easily. Rabbits love the company of another bunny friend and are happier in pairs. Not to mention if...

    Ear infection?

Does the wax smell bad? Generally with ear infections the ear wax has a foul odor. I have English lops and their ears are constantly filling up with wax, but my vet rarely says its a full blown infection and that keeping the ears clean as a preventative measure is best. Be careful when cleaning...

    Front Teeth Extraction

Rabbits do very well with the teeth removed. It's starting to become a preferred method to trimming the teeth, which can cause discomfort. The molars are what actually chew the food. It may just take longer for your bun to eat food (not a bad thing), but they adapt very quickly and it won't take...

    Orange spot in rabbits ear?

Is it a bump? Or a spot you can wipe off? If you're able to wipe it off, its most likely a spot of urine.

    Need advice on outdoor hutch

How big are your bunnies? I have one of those hutches and its not that roomy inside. I do like the three separate ways to get into the hutch. I ended up making the bottom all wood to make it more secure and warmer, and to get the bunnies off the wire.

Bonding; They can't figure out which one is dominant!

Sounds like they have a lot to figure out! With any bonding you have to let them hump a little bit to figure it out themselves. I generally let them hump for some time, as long as no one is getting hurt and there are no fights. This is they way of establishing dominance, so if you did not...

    So What is Juniper?

Looks to me like there might be a little Dutch in her. Love the name! She's adorable!

    English Lops

I have three as pets, but will occasionally show them just for fun if there are nearby shows. I absolutely adore the breed! I'd love talking to other about them as well!

Need to have my rabbit spayed and was wondering what other people have paid?

Have you looked into low cost spay/neuter centers near you? Generally it's under $100 for a spay and about half that for a neuter. Sometimes the vets at those places are much better with rabbit spays/neuters since they do so many. Even vets that see rabbits don't usually do as many suguries and...

    Chewing bars of pen/cage

Jar Jar Binks has gotten in this habit as well. Stupidly, I think I've been training him to since every time he does I come over and pet him. After about 2 times of me doing this its now how he gets my attention. These buns are too smart for me! Is there any other way to curb the behavior? It...

    My Sweet Gracie

I can't believe I am writing one of these, but even more I can't believe this even happened. I have lost my beautiful Gracie girl. The only bunny I did not take to school with me passed away last week. She didn't want to go outisde one day, but it was raining so my mom thought nothing of it. The...

    Splayed legs? Other med condition?

I have done quite a bit of research on splay leg since my English lop Floppsy has splayed back legs. Much of what I read said there's no way to fix it, it only gets worse, and it usually couples with inner problems. I've had her for a year now and it turns out she doesn't seem to have other...

Can proper rabbit keeping be done on a budget?

I have 5 rabbits. Housing is a sunk cost from years ago, so that doesn't really add in for me. Hay is '$15 for 4 months or so, and that shared with 10 buns.. My rabbits are on a mostly pellet free diet, so maybe $15 for 6 months of pellets. Veggies I get for free from local stores, so no cost...

    Questions about Bonding

Before I knew any better I ha two unswayed females bonded. Right before they turned a year old hormones kicked in an one degloved the skin all the way off the others leg. Nasty wound, you could see right down to the muscle and bone. Luckily, she healed marvelously and you'd never know. After my...

    Not Laying Together....?

I wouldn't be worried at all. It sounds like they are bonding very well! You may see that in time they start cuddling, or you may see that they just aren't cuddle-buns and prefer to sleep apart, but still love each other. I have two bonded pairs and in one the bunnies are basically glued...

    Californians?

I have one that I've had for over a year and another I just adopted. I absolutely LOVE them! They are so sweet and so adorable. They make great pets and they're very sturdy rabbits. Lots of people don't like their look (white with red eyes and medium-large rabbit size), but I think that's one of...

Share your rabbit(s) most interesting or note worthy ritual.

Ferkel has quite interesting one- every morning at around 7am she jumps on my nightstand, then onto my face. I wake up and she jumps back on the nightstand. She waits for me to doze off then jumps in my large potted plant and starts munching away. Not sure why or how this began, but its now the...
