    How much water?

How much water does an average (5lb approx) rabbit be drinking on a daily basis... I am a little concerned for how much my rabbit drinks. He gets timothy hay (lots) and 1/4 cup of pellets daily. I use wood stove pellets as bedding as they are more absorbent than shavings or newspaper and he pees...

    Neutered and spraying?

I have a 1year/3mo old velveteen lop male who was neutered at 6months. I just moved his cage and noticed splatters of pee all up the wall ( to waist hight on me) behind his cage (this was his one level cage, before I moved him to the new hutch I posted a few days ago).. Can they, or do they...

What Colour and Showing- how to?

So, completely new to the rabbit world I just purchased a few months ago, my first rabbit, 'stew' a now 5 month old Velveteen lop, male (soon to be fixed!) I never got him with the intention of showing, but I used to compete with horses and now that I don't, I think it would be a fun thing to...

Rabbits and Wild Life.. sort of.. Mice!

I've found a MOUSE in my house. ( My apartment is above a barn, so I'm not surprised) I've heard them in the walls all winter but never came across one or any signs that they were in side my apartment. Well I just went to get a drink from the kitchen and turned on the faucet and out jumps a...

    Molting?

I know that rabbits molt 1-2 times a year, is this correct? I have a velveteen lop and was told, or read somewhere that you are not suppose to brush them ( or the rex) because of their special coat and brushing it would ruin it. Do they still molt? am I suppose to be brushing him? Thanks.

Just not getting it- litter training

I've had stew (4 month old, un neutered male-for now) for about a month now. And he just doesn't seem to be getting the litter training at all! He has a nice big litter box with bedding which he mostly uses for sleeping in. He poops and pees EVERYWHERE all over his cage. Ive been scooping it...

    Getting comfortable?

Hello all, as you know I am a new rabbit owner (about three weeks ago I got my first rabbit, velveteen lop, 3 months old , male) He has always slept IN his litter box, and never uses it, as its way cleaner than the rest of his cage. The last day or two I've been taking his pee spots in his...

    Hiccups?

My apologies for a second thread now, but I was sitting here watching my rabbit, an wondered , can they get hiccups? Often after he drinks he goes into a fit of what sound like 'sneezes' because they are so frequent and fast, but they sound like a hiccup, (and a bit of a squeak) He has...

    Nails/handling

So, completely new rabbit owner here. When I picked up my rabbit I was shown and told to practice flipping him on his back in my lap for when it was time to trim his nails as it was an easy position to clip them in and it would just take some practice to get used to it for him. I am...
