After surgery - please help! (RIP)

The vet called this morning saying Dusty had lost most upper body mobility over night and still was not eating/drinking or pooping/peeing. He also was not lifting his head and seemed to be having respiratory complications. The vet thought he may not make it until evening when I got off of work...

After surgery - please help! (RIP)

He wasn't doing any of the above - except pooping a viscousy jelly like substance that I have learned is a mucus. I syringe fed him crital care and water this morning and had to go to work - my neighbor checked in on him and said he didn't move an inch all day. I took him to the vet after work...

After surgery - please help! (RIP)

My older Lop has an abscess from an infected tooth. He was put under today for a through exam and had the tooth removed. I brought him home from the vet about 7 hours ago and he is still very lethargic and can barely move. He is, however, making an odd hunching movement every couple of minutes...

    coughing?

My sickly little guy seems to be coughing. He makes a horrible noise and pushes his lop ears forward and shakes his head. He has a history of dental issues (malocclusion and spurs) and was recently taking antibiotics for a possible sneezing. The coughing started a couple of days ago and is not...

    Malocclusion

I certainly feel for you. My Lop Dust Bunny (a rescue as well) has horrible teeth. At this point he has all but two molars pulled. A few times he has stopped eating for one dental issue or another but a trip to the vet to have spurs addressed or a tooth pulled have been necessary. My Dusty...

    chalky urine

it's only a little bit of urine, and on his matt, not in the litter box. it's very chalky... when he urinated on his matt all the fluid went through the matt and left a white chalky substance on the surface of the matt. he drank some today but not as much as I would like. he refuses to eat any...

    chalky urine

Sorry, Dusty's history: Dusty is an older male Lop, about 5 lbs. I dont know his exact age since he was a rescue and no one has been able to give me a definative answer on that. ANyway, he has horrible dental issues in the past and has had all his front teeth and one of his molars removed. He...

    chalky urine

Dusty's urine is chalky. Is there something can do for him at home or is this an immediate vet visit? I just noticed it tonight. He seems to be drinking fine and he's eating normally. His poops are normal looking - it's just his pee.

    Itchy Bunny

My lop Dusty is scratching his fur thin in one spot on his "shoulder" area. His skin appears to be a little red in the area, however, i don't see any fleas or mites. His skin looks healthy to me (no flaking) but he is constantly scratching! Could this be from dry skin? The fur is growing back...

    rabbits teeth.

My little Dusty has this problem as well. When I adopted him from the rescue I was told his front teeth were pulled. He would need some special care but he was fine. In the past few months, I've spent about $3000 over several visits. His front teeth are growing back and they are unable to wear...

    Home remedies for Malloclusion?

My boy Dusty has malocclusion and his front teeth were removed before I got him. He eats his pellets and veggies fine, although I do have to chop his "salad" since he cannot gnaw. He refuses to eat hay or use chew toys but he seems to be a happy boy anyway. I take him to the vet for the tooth...

    ongoing dental problems

Thanks for the advice - banana in the critical care was a hit! Thats the most he's eaten in two days. I feel a whole lot better seeing him eat like that! You've calmed my nerves a bunch knowing he's on the right track. That video is amazing - thanks for sharing. I learned so much in those 9...

    ongoing dental problems

My Rabbit Dusty (i've posted before) just had a molar removed last night. It was overgrown and causing bleeding in his gums. I took him to the vet when his pellet and greens intake decreased by about 3/4. He's had horrible teeth problems in the past that have made him stop eating and eventually...

Thanks for the quick reply. I've posted twice on here and received such quick and informative replies. It really is an amazing resource and all of you are so generous with your knowledge and experience.

    connected poo

I have a couple of questions I'm hoping have simple answers. My boy Dusty had an emergency involving a tooth spur that caused him to stop eating, develop an ulcer and have severe anemia. He was hospitalized for a week but has since made an amazing recovery. I almost lost him. I adopted him...

    breathing issue?

His breathing has been on a regular basis - and i never noticed anything like this before his last medical issues (He came home less than three weeks ago). The vet thought that he might still be anemic and the heavy breathing is to get more oxygen his blood. I will definitely keep an eye on it...
