My sickly little guy seems to be coughing. He makes a horrible noise and pushes his lop ears forward and shakes his head. He has a history of dental issues (malocclusion and spurs) and was recently taking antibiotics for a possible sneezing. The coughing started a couple of days ago and is not steady. He did this about ten times the other morning and then just again tonite a few times. After his little "fit" he gets very lethargic and even lets me touch his otherwise guarded belly. He's definitely an older guy (age not known) and has consistent health problems since I got him from the SPCA a year ago. He's out free all day - he doesn't have his front teeth so im confident he hasn't chewed anything he shouldn't. Could this be related to his teeth as well?

Any idea what could be causing and/or how I could fix it? I'm exhausted with worrying about my guy all the time. Sorry, just venting...

It is possible thatarespiratory infection spread to his lungs and yes molar issues ( tooth root infections etc) can bring on symptoms like this. The coughing is serious andI would think that he would need chest x-rays and possibly a change in antibiotics to something more powerful
The vet will not be able to anesthesize him for a mouth exam with the lung issues. He should go the vet ASAP
