Im 14 years old right now (march.15,93) i waswondering what age i can start work? I want to work in the pet shop orthe pet adoption centers. I was wondering what age can i apply for ajob.
( i live in toronto)
If anyone has ever worked or is working in a pet shop.. what do you do? My friend says you clean poop all day.. LOL

I don't know about Canada, but here the legalworking age is 16. You get your national insurance number a few monthsbefore 16 and you can be hired after that.

Though I work and I'm 15 :tongutwo:Terrible pay though,there's no minimum wage. When you're 16 the minimum wage is £3.30 Ithink.

That's the UK, I would imagine Canada isn't all that different.

I have never worked in a petshop. I'm sure it's not just cleaning poop

Generally, at least in myarea, you can't work at a pet store as far as handling the animalsuntil you are 18, though you could be a cashier. You can volunteer at ashelter sometimes at 17. It is a liability thing. Getting bit byanimals and such.

Here in California, you can get a work permit at14. Then you can work, but you are limited to a certain number of hoursper week. I'm not sure what it is for you, though, since you're inCanada.
