My husband wants to make our rabbit a bigger hutch and run.
but he would like to no what wood is safe and wood varnish is safe for the rabbit.

I wouldn't suggest using varnish. We used paint that said it was safe for animals when dry-but that was about 2 years ago. We bought it from B&Q so not sure if they still sell it.

I believe Pets At Home sell a rabbit safe paint so it might be worth looking there, or asking there.
