Recently, my rabbit had her tooth trimmed at the vet, and they suspect she might need an extraction. Could anyone shed light on the extraction process? Do clinics typically keep rabbits overnight after such procedures? I'm trying to gauge the cost in Toronto; while I asked the vet, they mentioned a $100 consultation fee before providing an estimate. If someone could provide a general cost range, I'd be grateful. Additionally, I've read that some rabbits have trouble eating post-extraction. Can anyone share insights on the recovery process? I am worried that she may stop eating and have gut stasis/ileus. Thanks in advances.

It can be difficult because of the nature of rabbits teeth (deep rooted, always growing). So you have to weigh the cost and difficulties of surgery, vs having to have repeated tooth trims done (if this is an option).

Depending on the vet, it can be expensive. Vet pricing is all dependent on the individual vet. So if you have more than one knowledgeable rabbit vet in your area, I would recommend calling around for pricing. But definitely stick with an experienced rabbit vet.

These links are pretty good, and have further references you can look into. Medirabbit is also good for rabbit medical info.
