What is the youngest age to consider tattooing a rabbit?

Is there a "trick" to getting the correct placement with a set of tongs?

We tattoo (pen) our babies when weaning, So we can tell who is who and put the ear number on their pedigree's.. Also I have heard and say breeders put their bunnies (babies) in an old sock, Cut off each end, And also wrapped up the bunny in a tight cloth with Velcro. So they cant kick and struggle and break their backs.

Thank you Misty. I am uncomfortable with the idea of using the pen, I have tattoos of my own and just don't feel right subjecting my bunnies to that kind of pain for the length of time it would take me.
I think for my choosing the tongs are much quicker and the pain will be over faster.

Not that I am against the pen, I am just slow with hand writing.

I think the most important thing with the clamp is not to hit any veins. As long as the tattoo is legible it will do. Since you have big breeds it shouldn't be too hard.
