Scabies? Help!

Hi, I recently discovered my rabbit Rex has scabies. I'm annoyed because a month ago my vet told me to use 50 dollar treatment for his ear mites. Clearly didn't work. Now things are worse. My baby is two pounds. I really need a safe way to treat it :c

He still doesn't have mites in his ears, but seems to have scabies on his nose. I check his paws and there isn't anything there..yet.

Can you describe his symptoms a little more, and/or provide a picture. Is there any crusting anywhere else, such as the genitals? There is a rabbit disease called rabbit syphilis. There can be crusting and lesions around the eyes, nose, mouth, and/or genitals. This is not the same as the human kind. It is a bacterial infection and can be treated with injectable penicillin ONLY(never orally). If it's not syphilis, it could possibly be a skin fungus. If it does end up being mange, the reason that the med didn't work to clear this up is that the med that you probably used for ear mites- Revolution(selemectin), isn't effective against mange mites, which are a completely different mite. Mange mites are burrowing mites and are usually treated with ivermectin(fyi- ivermectin can sometimes cause toxic reactions in rabbits with dutch rabbit ancestry, and blue eyed whites). The best way to know what it is, would be for the vet to do a skin scraping. WARNING: Some pictures in these links may be disturbing

we in Indonesia have tradisional way to get rid of scabies, just garlic and palm oil. just smash garlic and add some oil, after it swap at scabies part. 3 till 4 times a day. but its so long and routine.
