So I have had my rabbit Lovino (male) since he was a baby. He's almost five years old now.
I've had him neutered years ago, which helped tremendously with his litter training. I consider him to be completely litter trained.

Roughly 8 months ago I got a cat from a shelter. She's older, very chill, sleeps a lot. She doesn't have teeth, so she's pretty harmless. Lovino (the bunny) is the more daring one, but they in general ignore each other, or just sniff each other and leave. No fights whatsoever.

About a month or two ago, my rabbit suddenly started peeing and pooping next to my cat's litter box. He's still peeing and pooping inside his own. The spot next to the cat's litter box is the only place he's doing this.
I've tried scaring him away from there, I've sprayed the spot with water-vinegar mixture; but nothing helped.

The litter box is in different room than my rabbit's living area (litter box is in the halway while Lovi has all his stuff in the living room). The cleanliness of the cat's litter box makes no difference in this behaviour.

I wonder why he started doing it only now even when the cat's litter box has been there much longer?
I've had Ollie (the cat) since June and the litter box has always been in the same spot.

The only thing I remember changing recently is Lovino's litter brand. The type is the same he has had his entire life (wood pellets), but I've recently gotten him different brand because I was in quarantine and had to buy online.

It's not the first time I've changed the brand; I've been switching between Cat'sBest and Tesco's PetSpecialist and he never showed any issues with that. Although lately it's been mostly PetSpecialist. But the one he has now is different than the two, but it's still wooden pellets. It has lighter in colour; that's the only difference I can tell.
Could it be he doesn't like his current litter?

I use diferent types of litter for him (wood pellets) and the cat (silicone crystals).
Do you have any tips or ideas how to make him stop or what makes him do that?
Thank you!
