Hi everyone! Kirby is my beautiful new (and first) adopted bunny. He's approx. 2 years old and a lovely satin. I've had him about 2-3 weeks and he was an absolute sweetheart the first week. Now as each day goes by he is getting increasingly naughty it seems. He is chewing on the carpet on his condo ramp, chewing and tugging at the rugs that line his play pen and would rather gnaw at paper than his greens... Sigh. I don't know what else to do than to brush his head away when I catch him. I spend almost every moment with him in the evenings after work but I can't possibly watch him all the time. His favorite toy is a cotton hand towel. He's been chewing up all the fibers there too. He eats plenty of hay regularly. I feed him some mixed lettuce greens and parsley and he gets 1/4 cup of timothy pellets too. I'm worried that he might hurt himself chewing things up or get his tummy in trouble eating up all that paper/rug/carpet/towel fiber. I also recently bought a ramp so he can get in and out of his condo easily but he is strong enough to tug the whole ramp out of place!
Rabbits chew up cardboard boxes, so is paper ok? What about the wood on the ramp? Carpet and rug? I'm so worried! is he just a chewer? Is there anyway to stop this behavior?
