I thought it was just a stray clump of cecals at first and ignored it, but I walked past just now and decided to clean it up, when I found that there was a whole bunch of cecals hidden under the hay she had kicked out.

It was probably 1/3 cup of cecals, she had to have been not eating them for a couple nights now. I'm really worried because she's pregnant, and she can't be sick!

You might think about reducing her pellets. I know you're supposed to free-feed pellets to pregnant bunnies, but maybe just fill the bowl just once a day?

Is she too fat to reach her bum, maybe?

howdy,..here,s a link that might cheer you up http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/poop.html --i am a poopologist-,cecals do matter,--so i might add that if this is an ongoing problem to offer probotics-ie.benebac,,or stop at your local farm animal supply store and look at probotics for horses and the little mammals.//.pregant doe,s require input,ie-grasses,water-etc.-however with all this given please note gestation period on your calendar,,for suspected time of delivery,,-when she goes into labor the babies may have to be delivered by an exotic specialist--if the doe is fat / overweight she WILL-NOT-contract properly and the babies and she will perish,..sincerely james waller:pray:

You are not suppose to free feed a pregnant doe. They do not require any more pellets than if they are not bred. You start slowly increasing their pellets when they kindle and by the time the kits open their eyes you are free feeding the doe. If you free feed a pregnant doe you stand the chance of larger kits that the doe can't pass and a fat doe that has a harder time delivering.

I have a trio of hollands and all of them make excess cecals if fed too many pellets and not enough hay. I limit their pellets to a third of a cup a day, they get free choice hay and a pinch of oatmeal a day.

Thanks for letting us know that, Roger. I hadn't heard that before.

My one doe has a very sensitive stomach and can't eat anything with yucca in it. Plus, I have to be careful not to give her too many fruits. She frequently gets excess cecal pellets, so I back off on the extras and only give her hay for a day or two till they're not noticeable anymore. She also produced too many at the end of her last pregancy; but I think it was because she was soooo big and couldn't reach properly.

She kindled 7 kits 2 days later and all were nice and healthy. (she's a lionhead, by the way- 3.5 lbs.)
