I wouldn't put any paint on the inside where the rabbit can reach it - rabbits will chew just about everything and I don't know of any paint that would be safe.
If you just want to paint the outside, as long as the rabbit can't reach it, I don't think it matters.

painting it isnt gonna help the bun..how bout a roof over it?.that would help the bun and the cage.....problem solved.

shingle the whole outside lol i did that with my old bunny hutch when i was a kid. and you can get a rain protector to go over it and when it rains just have a flap that you can pull down. to make your own just use clear shower curtains or go to walmart and get a few lengths of the plastic that comes on the rolls in the craft or fabric section. all you will need with that is Velcro and 2 sided tape and of course the correct measurements lol.
