So i gota new 2 month old buck last week and today when i fed him and my doe i noticed he seemed kinda... off..

i first noticed he looked like he was trying to rub his nose like he got it into something but all he was doing was eating his regular food.

Then he just looks off balance. Like he is still hoping around normally and sometimes he looks completely fine, but then he just seems off again after that until he goes back to normal.

So i picked him up to go rush him to ANYONE who would listen to me and he was shaking... like... shivering.

I handled him for a few moments and right now he seems fine. Is this something to worry about?!

There are really no rabbit savy vets anywhere NEAR me and ill be devistated if anything bad happens to Java. Is there a way to treat head tilt if this is whats wrong with him?

about 8 weeks old,..is he still nursing.??--http://medirabbit.com --,,this websitecan answer your headtilt question,..however keep a watchful eye on the baby/mothers behavior,..i would not think a young bun would have such a serious illness.//.the immune system would have to be compromised-//-up to 6-7 months there is a more specific diet for a baby bun,,than an adult..//.i have had more than my share of grief due to illnesses.,..just in case,,look online-phonebook,etc to find an exotic dvm specialist--they are worth the peace of mind....sincerely james waller

I'm sorry, but I don't really understand all the symptoms you are describing. Do you mean that he is rubbing his nose with his hands? Does he tilt his head to the side? Was she shaking possibly from fear or was it different? With neurological symptoms like this you may need a vet soon. Head tilt can be treated but I don't know how the nose thing or the shaking thing would fit into that diagnosis. Tilt needs to be treated with aggressive antibiotics.

Any more info to describe these symptoms more clearly would be helpful.

Yes he was rubbing his nose with his paws but the wierd thing was he was on his belly while he was doing it. I decided to put this in because it was what first caught my attention and it was the first thing he did before he started all his crazyness.

His head wasnt tilting or anything but I knew the off balance was something that came with head tilt and I am not sure if it's a "first sign" or anything like that. Ive never had a bunny with head tilt before so im just worried and hoping its not because he is supposed to be my show bunny and breeding buck.

I have no idea why he was shaking and thats why it scared me so much. Ive handled him daily and he has never shaken and in fact i handled him a few minutes ago and he wasnt shaking then either. And there was no possible way he was cold. Both my Netherlands are in my bathroom which is conjoined to my bedroom.

He seems fine today but he really worried me last night. Im not sure how they fit into the head tilt thing either but i didnt know the symptoms of it except the off balance so i decided to put the others in in case they could havebeen of any help to anybody. Im just glad he is himself today =)

He hasnt been doing it anymore or i would try to get it on camera. The last 2 days he has acted perfectly normal. Guess he just wanted to scare me :?
