I have been noticing a lot more posts on theboard about the slowing down and stopping of bunny poops. Iwas wondering if one of the "bunny experts" here could give us someguide lines on what to do and in what order to do it when we notice aslow down in our bunnys poop.

Such as what do we start with giving first . hay, oats, pumpkin?? and how much pumpkin?

How long should we let this go on before seeking vet attention?

What is an indication that your bunny needs to go to the vet NOW?

What can we do on a preventive measure?

are some veggies better for a blockage? Are there some to stay away from?

Should we take away pellets?

thanks for any info, this seems like such a scary (but common) thing!

Please read the post entitled GI Stasis, blossombunny.

It's long, but it has some answers to your questions.

The single most important thing I do is to startpushing the Nutri Cal as soon as a rabbit goes off its feed.Hay and dark, leafy greens can also be offered.

...And canned pumpkin if they don't take the hay. If they don't eat it,you should syringe feed it to them to get the extra fiber in them.
