Eastern Vs. Western Timothy Hay

Is the only difference between Eastern and Western timothy hay the location in which they're grown (East coast vs. the West coast)? That's my guess, but I don't want to assume.

I would also assume that the main difference is location. There may also be some slight variation due to growing conditions and possible seed variation. These should be slight.

I find it amusing, actually, the fact that I'd never before considered the existence of Eastern timothy hay, when there's one clarified as Western timothy hay.... :biggrin2:

Mostly marketing similar to Idaho potato.

A possible difference is type of weeds and pests that might be in the hay fields.
