I was just wondering if my baby bunny could catch anything from my cats. I have 3 cats at home, and one of them seems prone to colds. I didn't know if my bun could catch something from the cats if they get sick. Thanks!

I don't believe there are any diseases that can be passed between bunnies and cats (or dogs, or people for that matter). However, cats do have bacteria on their claws and teeth, so a cat bite or scratch can cause infection or absesses.

I would worry the most about bites or scratches that get infected. The bacteria that cause upper respiratory infections can probably be passed between them, so if the cat has an active illness I'd keep it isolated from all the other animals anyway.

O.k. Thanks! To be safe I probably will keep them seperated, but at least I don't have to kick the cat out of the house! And he is declawed so no scratches to worry about. Thanks all!
