Hey Buck,

The wire grid we're going to put in the bottom of the cage is going tobe about 42 inches by 28, and we're making it like you described. Do weneed to add any support in the middle of it?

Oops, you're correct for asking! I do add a support, usuallylike a 1" x 1" (measurements not critical) right in themiddle of the long sides of the rectangle. If you make itwith a 1" x2," it could also serve as a base for some feed bowls thatneed a screw-in surface. I do that with twist-lokcrocks. Buns will jump right over the "partition"so to speak and it presents no problems.

You could make more than one support if you think itworthwhile. By placing it(them) "inside" the rectangle, so tospeak, with the wire on the bottom of the rectangle, you prevent poopsand stringers from hanging up on the support(s). Did thatmake sense? Don't wish to confuse you.
