Hi RO,

We have two Holland lops, a boy and a girl. We have been trying to bond them for 2-3 months now. They seemed to have bonded after a few weeks. Our boy, Pancakes, assumed the dominant role at first......However we had him neutered a month ago, and now they seem to have a power struggle going on.

We take them out and have them play together for long periods of time everyday, and wont have any problems. They will play together, (or do their own thing at times) they lie down together, and groom each other.....but then all of a sudden out of the blue MooMoo (our girl) will try to hump pancakes, then he will try to hump her etc...this goes on for a minute or two and then they're fine again.

We want have them cohabiting in large cage we own soon, but we are wondering how long we should wait, if this is normal, and if there are any signs to look for, to make sure they'll be okay with one another????

You aren't seeing any aggression or fighting, just humping? That's normal. They are just acquiring dominance between each other;).

You could start same cage with them anytime it sounds like:D. You have them on non neutral territory? If so, they should be fine;).

A couple of quick questions off the subject a bit.

~has she been spayed?

~how old are they?

~how long since his neuter?

~when they played before - and you had humping - how old were they?

She was spayed in May of 07, Moo Moo is 9mths and Pancakes is 6mths and has been neutered since Sept 13/07. when they played together Moo Moon was 7mths and pancakes was about 4mths. It now seems that Moo Moo is always going for the nip in Pancakes bum all the time. Shouldnt She already feel like the dominat one?

thanks,

Jeff
