how to teach a bunny to use a water bottle

Yup, she figured the bottle out last week without me interfering. I did the same as you, I gave her a water bowl but left the bottle in there to see if she'd catch on. And last week I noticed the water bottle was half full. I've only seen her use it twice since then but she is draining a 32oz...

how to teach a bunny to use a water bottle

As she's getting older its becoming clear the water dish is not going to be a good life long solution. She's started trying to swim/bathe/I don't even know, in it. LOL

Corporal punishment may not be effective but it is certainly satisfying.

Where do your buns like to be rubbed?

Oliver, the rabbit I am fostering while his mom is overseas only likes the base of his ears his forehead rubbed. Miss Twist my baby angora will let me do anything to her and she just melts and does that purring thing.

Does my bunny love me or is she telling me to take a shower?

She's the first rabbit I've had that is a licker so it surprised me. I've had lots of rabbits over the years because I was breeding angoras for a while and I think I've only ever been licked twice before now and those times were both a lick here or there and nothing further. It is an...

Does my bunny love me or is she telling me to take a shower?

I'm sitting here with my angora bunny perched on my shoulder and she is furiously licking my neck, cheek, and lips. Is this bonding behavior or is she telling me I'm dirty? LOL

Your BIL is a jackass of the first order. To make sure this never happens again I would have your male neutered and make your BIL pay for it. I'd have your BIL neutered too, just for good measure.

how to teach a bunny to use a water bottle

This baby is an angora, even at 5 weeks old she is shedding like a house on fire. The water bowl idea just isn't the best option for this breed. I will leave the water bottle in the cage and if she hasn't figured it out in a month or two I'll try adding a touch of vanilla to the water or maybe...

how to teach a bunny to use a water bottle

Yup, I actually have one of those bowls for the large enclosure for food. I can't use them in the baby cage though because of how tall the sides of the plastic bottom are. She wouldn't be able to reach into the bowl to drink from it. She's got a ceramic dish now. I prefer the water bottles...

how to teach a bunny to use a water bottle

Thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking she might be to young for sugary options so I will hold off on the banana. However the hay suggestion gave me an idea. She adores carrot tops so I could hang carrot tops in front of the spout and see if she figures it out that way. If by 3-4...

how to teach a bunny to use a water bottle

I have a very young angora bunny who has never seen a water bottle before. I would prefer she drink from the bottle instead of a bowl but I don't know how to teach her to do so. When I bred rabbits I started out with adults who used bottles and the babies learned from mom. Does anyone have...

    Sick or Sulking?

The veggies weren't new, its just that for right now she isn't getting the variety she often gets. Usually I give her romaine one day, turnip greens the next, then mustard greens, then romaine again, etc.... Right now though she's only getting romaine because the other rabbits will only eat...

    Sick or Sulking?

Roo is 2. She normally gets assorted greens but she's been getting romaine mixed with carrot and cabbage now because that's what my friends feed theirs so its just easier to feed all three the same. She was getting hay mixed into her pellets so no pellets means no hay. She also only gets a...

    Sick or Sulking?

Last Saturday my friends dropped off their two rabbits for me to take care of while they were out of town. Ever since then, my rabbit has stopped eating her pellets and her poop has become watery and gooey. She will still eat her lettuce and banana but isn't drinking as much as she used to...

    Tattoo pens

Is there any reason why a tattoo pen meant for tattooing permanent makeup on a human wouldn't work to do rabbit tattoos? There are a bunch of tattoo pens for doing eyeliner, eyebrows, etc. on Ebay right now and I was just wondering if they would work as well? They are about half the price of...

    Advice on Rabbit Shows

It depends on how big the show is. Around here if you show up at noon to the fall show the show is almost over and most of the rabbits are gone. For the spring show it is bigger so you can still see rabbits and judging.

    Angora rabbit Angora rabbit questions?

For my Angoras, I have french, english, and f/e hybrids, I use a combination of a blower and a dog comb that has widely spaced rotating teeth. I find it works really well. The blower fluffs and the comb gets out the vm. When I'm not showing or for my purely fiber animals I also add a...

Cutting down on rabbit stock Rex and Rex/Angora crosses for sale

I have one male Rex born Aug 2009 and four half Rex, half Angora crosses born Feb 2010 for sale. They were part of a breeding experiment and I now have my 3/4 Angora, 1/4 Rex generation so I am letting these five rabbits go. I would like $20 for the Rex and $15 for the crosses. None of...
