    Strange toilet behaviour

hi thanks for posting, good to know that its not just alex. he's still doing the same, we have cut his pellets down as was suggested and this seemed to help, we've had a long period of no cecals but then yesterday he had a couple of hours of doing cecals and even a really soft poo...

    Strange toilet behaviour

Only thing we've done over last couple of days is we had a candle on to get rid of cooking smells, I wonder if he thinks of the smoke when blown out as danger?

Is there such a thing as "too much fibre"?

I read somewhere the other week when I was researching Rabbit Diets, that a rabbit can survive solely on hay and water for 2 weeks, I know that is an absolute extreme, but just goes to show.

    Strange toilet behaviour

hi everyone again, right we cut hit pellets down slightly as suggested, and the cecals/runs seemed to go, however there are more weird going on's now. Both yesterday and today, we have gone in the dining room to see him and he has looked really scared and been thumping his back legs. We've...

    Strange toilet behaviour

Glass is a little tumbler, we give 80grams of food, he used to have 100grams when he was little. Do we need to lower this amount? His hay is always meadow hay providing we can get some from the shops.

    Strange toilet behaviour

Hi Thanks for the info. By the sounds of what you are saying we could be feeding our little boy some of the wrong things. The Chinese leaf has gone in the bin now. What kind of greens would you give to your bunny's? Seems like we've chosen all the bad ones.

    Strange toilet behaviour

Hi everyone, Hope you and your bunnies are well. Alex, our rabbit, had the beginnings of gut stasis at the start of november, thankfully we spotted it very early on and got him sorted out. We have noticed lately that he keeps doing quite a few cecals and also some soft poo's, and while...

    Considering having rabbit neutered...

Hi again everyone, Alex's testicles are completely gone now, I was checking everything was ok down there today, and had to clean him up a little. Not entirely sure what he had between his legs and genitals (in the tiny crevices between) but it looked like what I can only describe as a...

    Not sure what to do

Yeah, we always rub it with hibiscrub and then rinse with water

    Not sure what to do

Yeah he's still hopping around fine. Wound looks very clean this morning, not bled again. Hes still eating as he always does (like a pig!) and seems fine in himself. Hibiscrub is classed as a surgical scrub, so I reckon it must be the same stuff. Its bright pink in colour.

    Not sure what to do

Ahh good to know. Its stopped bleeding now. He keeps licking it every so often. He's staying in tonight so we can keep an eye on him :-)

    Not sure what to do

Our Rabbit Alex, has just jumped out of my arms, he landed on all four on our kitchen floor, and he appears to have taken a nail off, infact he finished it off and ate it,which is now bleeding (seems to be stopping). We have cleaned the area with hibiscrub. Question is, does he need vetinary...

    Considering having rabbit neutered...

Where he had the op done, is healing well, but he has taken it upon himself to nibble it a bit! Have bathed it with some plain water to keep it clean, but will keep an eye on it. He finishes his anti-biotics today.

    Considering having rabbit neutered...

Yeah he's drinking and eating very well :-) Infact he's drinking more than he normally does. Do we have to think about him putting on more weight on after this or not? Just thinking about when dogs have this operation.

    Considering having rabbit neutered...

Was considering buying some of that but its too late now, wouldn't come til after the weekend. He's currently running round the kitchen pooing lol He's only due a very small amount of baytril, 0.6ml twice a day, normally much higher than that, so I reckon we should be ok, we'll keep a...

    Considering having rabbit neutered...

He's a bit more lively now, even brought his hutch in the house tonight, in the cool kitchen. He keeps eating so thats good, and he's drinking quite a lot too. Not seen him go to the loo yet tho, so keeping an eye on that.
