    I got a Flemish yesterday =]

~*Midnight Moon*~ wrote: Look at her head. Even at an early age, this will give you a good point of referance on her color when she is older. If she is mixed, meaning not a pure light grey or steel, but has sandy in her line, then I doubt she will "grey out". Ask Blue Flemish breeders...

    I got a Flemish yesterday =]

He looks about the right age. I love his coloring. Around here we call that a "betweener". The color is too light for steel and too dark for light grey. Not showable, but a great color no matter. I personally like the color over a "true" steel. My first pet Flemish was a "betweener"...

    Bunny Breed Stereotypes!

Flemmish Giants can be some of the dangerous animals on the planet! They have wire cuttes for teeth and wolverine like claws. And you know what they say about big ears and feet! LOL Jerry

    update on Flemish Giants!

This is stupid on me, a hick country boy ............I took our last cat to the vet to get "netured" because it was a "boy". I got the vet's office and she came in in her white smock and said, "what are we doing to Boo-Boo today?" "No more balls please." "OK," and she takes Boo-Boo in...

Water dish instead of water bottle

I only use water bowl, heavy bottom "crocks". I like them because the animal can get more water. This keeps the pee smell down as well! Like others have said, it might take a little moving around to get the right spot. Jerry

    Cages Question!

You need to looking at a 4'x4' cage and around 2' tall, if with a closed top. If the top is open, then I would go with a 3' tall wall. You might be able to get by with a 3'x4' pen, if the rabbit is allowed out for awhile to exercise. Best bet might to have the NIC panels secured onto 2x2s...

    Those with free ranging bunnies....

My Flemish Giant is "free ranged" to the point of only having an exlarge litter pan (18'x24" and 6" tall!). Our home is pretty much bunny proof.....lost two sets of computer speakers and one mouse before I got it right! We live on a split level and she does very well on both levels even at a...

    Rescued Eastern Cottontail

Between me and another rabbit slave, we raise up about three to four cottontails a year. Mostly in the spring, they are found by neighbors digging up gardens. We live in a subdivision on the edge of town and have allot of wild rabbits running around. Also have allot of coyotes, but I'm been...

What Rabbit Rescue are you Personally Involved In?

I just joined up with a No Kill Org here in Southern Illinois. My poodle's groomer helps with it and after I gave all of my dog carriers and gear to them, I decided to help with rabbits /cavies. They had a few last year and found out they aren't as easy as sticking in a 10 gallon fish tack and...

Hello From MO. Is my rabbit a flemish giant?

You guys! Yes, NZL is short for New Zeland. Sorry about that. Also, after looking over the pics, and this is from a rabbit slave that deals with most meat rabbits, I would say its got very little Flemish in it. The weight could be due to fat. The rabbit looks healthy, but pretty heavy...

I've got to go with the Chekered Giant mix as well. Those back lines and marking aren't by accident. Some genes where at work. Really nice looking rabbit. Love the marking. Jerry
