The joys of being a bunny parent

When our avatar, Nikki was a kit, she'd lay in her hay rack, again, on her back with all 4 legs sticking up--she was a sweet but very strange little bunny.

    Thumper is gone

So sorry for your losses--hang in there with all the good memories. They are never truly gone if we remember them.

    R.I.P. My Bunny "Stew"

Hello my little "crabby" man, miss you still--talk to you again next year.

    Blossom is gone

So sorry for your loss, but it serves no purpose to blame yourself as we have no time travel ability nor do we have a "magic wand" to change things. We are granted such a limited time with our loved Buns no matter what we do. We have rescued 60+ buns and re-homed a lot, but most stayed with...

My 5 month old bunny broke her back leg

    My Vet wanted to amputate.

Goodbye to my sweet little Bambi

I've always felt that "quality" of life is more important than length--fortunately our little "velvet" bunny had both. We have had some with us for only 3 years before passing to the bridge but we did our best to make sure they were great years. Still miss you a lot my little one, goodbye for...

Mr Hoppes went to the bridge.................

Stuck on the colour of this Rabbit

Definitely some "opal" and what looks like "Tort". Wait till first molt to see if there are any changes--some of ours had variations after molting

My rabbit won't stop bullying my cat

We use child gates as a barrier and have put 2 together so it is 6 feet high--none gets over. Your bunny will never change the behavior, so you will need a better barricade.

My bunny is gone and it's my fault

So sorry for your loss, it is very hard no matter the circumstance. Our dogs are trained to never leave the family room so they and our bunnies never see each other--our small dog weighs 180 pounds, so the bunnies would definitely panic. We also use child gates as a back up, so, neither the...

    New soap

When we moved here, our avatar Nikki was a little Toad for 3 months as we had the "nerve" to disturb her status quo--she finally came back to her "normal" behavior--she just did not like any change! Always have told friends "train your rabbit or your rabbit will train you!" They definitely are...

    Question about music

Mine get to listen to 50's classic rock and roll--my choice, not theirs--have gotten "no complaints, like it would matter to me" but I do love the vocal harmonies of people that could truly sing without all the electronics now in use.

    Rabbit exhibiting destructive behavior

Rabbits will be rabbits--we considered all the furniture in our family room to be "sacrificial". We have a couple of "dig" boxes full of shredded newspaper and a "cardboard castle" as well as other tubes and toys--they need to dig and chew to wear down their nails and teeth--part of their...
