I'm so sorry this happened, Leaf, but I want to repeat everyone else's condolences, and you did everything you could have. Without you, she may never have had any chance at all to have and try to raise these kits. It's a miracle that buns can do this on their own out in the wild, isn't it?

Grooming yourself really does seem to put bunnies at ease. If you feel weird doing bunny actions, brushing your hair in front of them seems to be the same thing. Once I start doing it, if the buns aren't sleeping then they start to do it too. It's just like saying, "hey, I'm relaxed. Time to...

Martin (neutered at maybe 3 years old) stopped hating me after his neuter (2 years ago). He's back to hating me again because of the move, but it's not nearly as bad.

I kept the bale I bought in my trunk, and put chunks of the bale (as needed) into one of those big storage bins. I did see a hay bale sized storage bin once at Target though, so that might be an option, too.

I forgot to mention that it is a brain stem infection, not EC that is taking her. It seemed so unimportant when I got back from the vet. She's still here. I'm wondering if she's going to hang on longer than the vet thinks she will. I'm so afraid of coming home and her not being around any more.

After washing it worked a lot better. Mine's purple by the way! :)
