How do I know my rabbit pellet's starting to go bad?

I keep the pellets in an air tight container and they last a long time. But once I didn’t put the lid on properly and, as my bunny had died, I didn’t use it. When I got it out, four months later, it had tiny flies breeding in it. So that was my fault, not the pellets.

    Do Bunnies Binky Only Once?

I think they do it when they’re having fun. Mine does it when he can get a good run up outside through the door to inside the house.

Rabbit biting and lifting run bars

Our bunny did that and then I bought a hanging chew bar and he doesn’t do it any more. Also apple twigs are a favourite.

    Why Not Eating Cecotropes?

Your bunnies are unsettled. These strange looking things will stop once they’re used to their new home.

    Why Not Eating Cecotropes?

My bunny left those around, when we first brought him home. He had been living with another family for two years, then they wanted a long holiday and left him with a Shelter. Then he came to us. He left these (I called them strings of pearls!) over about three weeks, until he settled in. He...

Should I get a second rabbit

I've always only ever had one bunny at a time and they seem very happy that way. My feeling is they become more affectionate with us, as a result.

I need some ideas for toys please

I made a toy out of a toilet roll. I gave my bunny a cut up carton, I bought him a hanging chew thingy. All because his previous owner said he liked to chew and she had lots of toys for him. He is totally disinterested in all of them but loves to just chill in his little hiding spot, binky on...

I need some ideas for toys please

I'd love to see videos of your buns enjoying their toys. I bought a wooden chew toy for my Dutch, because I was told he chewed a lot. He hasn't touched it. Also I made a toy from a toilet roll and he kicked it away. I'm beginning to wonder if his previous owner was making it up. Although...

I'm a new member and have adopted a Dutch

I have a Dutch. He's delightful. He was relinquished at two years, so still trying to settle him (been with us for three weeks) but he's super affectionate. And a nice medium size.

New rabbit prefers pellets over hay

Pellets have always been supper, for my bunnies. Just a handful. Hay all day, with some veggies but pellets are a treat before bed, in our house.

I'm a new member and have adopted a Dutch

I'm interested to read about everyone's experiences with their bunnies, compared to my own. We've recently lost our beloved Netherland Dwarf, after six years, and decided to go for something a little bigger and less nervy! At the moment our lovely rescue Dutch, Sooty, is extremely chilled...
