    RIP Gally

When we lost our previous companion (feline) before Peachy and Gally came to us we couldn't even think about a new pet for months (she had been the last of our menagerie of many years of two dogs and two cats). When Peachy passed last year having Gally around helped. I'm sure some will think...

    RIP Gally

Thank you all for the kind thoughts, it's amazing how a little 5lb creature gets into our hearts. From what I've read some rabbits are more prone to bladder stones, some to sludge and some tend not to get either, unless you knew the bloodline no way to tell in advance and this little guy was...

    RIP Gally

So very sad, our Gally has joined his mate Peachey. He was only 6 and in great shape, loved his head rubs, renovating his cardboard box houses, fresh treats and bunny 500s around the family room but had developed bladder stones which were starting to cause blockages and yesterday he was in a...

    Rabbit Has Tumor Need Advice

Very sorry for your loss, you obviously cared very much for her. I know it's not much consolation but she did have 6 years of loving care that she would not have had if you hadn't adopted her.

My baby bunny broke his right back leg!

Hi Avanessa, Rabbits are prey animals so they hide their pain very well. Best thing you can do is get Ferrero to a vet who is good with rabbits as soon as you can to see what can be done for him. In the meantime make sure to keep him comfortable and make sure he is still eating and pooping...

GI Stasis questions, I'm worried sick :(

Sucha, we lost our sweet Peachy very suddenly last week in a similar way but I can't imagine if we'd lost both bunnies at once. So sorry for you loss.

    Rabbit passed away suddenly

Thank you both, jess24rose I'm sorry to hear about your cat - our cats were 16 and 19 when they passed so as sad as we were to lose them we knew it was their time but with Peachy as with your cat it so much harder, I feel that I let her down. Softcottoncloud we did talk about a necropsy and...

    Rabbit passed away suddenly

Thank you for the kind thoughts, Poopy Poo. We've lost loved pets before but always at an old age and from age related health problems that we knew about. Somehow this hurts even more, on one level I know we did the best we could for her but I still feel that we let her down.

    Rabbit passed away suddenly

We've read and learned lots on this forum but this first post is a sad one. We don't know the underlying cause but Peachy, one of our daughter's two rabbits (a ~3 year old lop) died yesterday, possibly as a result of GI stasis. The only thing we can think of that changed recently is that we...
