Can entire male littermates live together okay?

Thanks :) I bought my other two (Thor and Loki) as flemish giants but they are not purebred. Not sure what they are crossed with but when I asked on here a few members suggested Flemish X Californian. They came from a bit of a dodgy breeder, so I imagine that didn't help with their aloof...

Can entire male littermates live together okay?

Thank you, yes I'm thinking best to get them done to avoid grumpy bunnies! Last time I was quite involved with the procedure so this time I think I'll try and stay out of it if I can, let my work mates do it all. Hopefully they then won't associate the experience with me.

Can entire male littermates live together okay?

I wasn't meaning to imply that the change of hormones from being desexed altered the personality of my boys. I'm a firm believer in desexing having little to no impact on the personality of animals. What I do mean is that I know my two boys were scared when they had their surgery (I work at the...

Can entire male littermates live together okay?

I recently got 2 new Flemish Giant boys, roughly 12 weeks old now. I'm just wondering if it is absolutely necessary for me to have them desexed? Can entire male litter mates live together without fighting? The last two boys I had desexed seemed to get really spooked by the experience and I've...

What breed is my new addition?

Thanks all :) Sounds like you all agree that she is a Polish. I'm happy about that as I have heard of Nethies being a bit grumpy, haha! I generally prefer larger breed rabbits. My other two are Flemish Giant X Californian. So this little one is totally different from what I'm used to. She's...

What breed is my new addition?

Her eyes are mesmerising! Such a vibrant blue! My whole life I've wanted a pet with blue eyes :)

What breed is my new addition?

Thanks, she does look like that Polish! I'm now tossing up whether she's a Polish or a Netherland Dwarf :) I know Netherland Dwarfs are common where I live, not sure about Polish though.

What breed is my new addition?

Unexpectedly acquired a new rabbit today :o She's a rescue who needed somewhere to go, I just happened to have a suitable place for her. So I know nothing of her history. I'm assuming she's some kind of drawf breed, she's absolutely tiny.... her entire body is the size of my flemish giants...

    Pure flemish giants or not?

Thank you :) I too love those colourings! Siamese cats are my favourite breed. I don't have one at the moment but I'm hoping my next kitty will be a siamese :) Nice to have a rough idea of what's in my two bunnies, haha, will be interesting to see how big they get!

    Pure flemish giants or not?

Thank you so much :) Yes I thought they might be crossed! They're litter mates, so if one is, the other will be too. Here's their dad, any idea what breed or x breed he might me?

    What age to spay females?

Thank you :) I'll get them done within the next two weeks then, I'll just let them settle in a bit first. As for the dewlap, I don't really like the appearance of them and I know they're a female thing so wondered if the hormone changes with spaying would impact it at all. I'm not too fussed...

    What age to spay females?

Got my first two bunnies the other day :) Two female Flemish giants, Alice and Effie. They are about 3.5 months old. I'm just wondering when is the best time to get them spayed? I'm also curious, does spaying impact the development of a dewlap at all?

    Pure flemish giants or not?

Picked up my first two bunnies the other day. They needed a home and I had just finished building my bunny enclosure so figured why not? :) They're super lovey. I was told they are Flemish Giants but I'd love some conformation of that. I'm not fussed what they are, but am definitely curious...

    Shop recommends bad food :(

Too true! I work at a vet as a dog groomer so I'm not directly involved with all the veterinary stuff but I still see how the food companies effect things! And you're right about pet shops stocking for the supply and demand situation. A lot of shops probably wouldn't survive if they didn't have...

    Shop recommends bad food :(

I know what you mean! I see the same thing with dog and cat food all the time, the cheap stuff with colourful dyes in it is often thought to be good for them when in reality it's just fillers. What makes me most mad about dog and cat food is that vets promote 'Hills' food as a premium high...

    Shop recommends bad food :(

Thanks for the link, yeah I've checked out similar websites and done all the research :) Wanted to make sure I can care for a bunny properly before I get one! I plan to grow my own veggies for them as I live on a farm with a large veggie patch. We also grow and cut our own hay every year so I'll...

    Shop recommends bad food :(

Thanks for the link, much appreciated :D Yes I was leaning towards vetafarm or burgess excel, this particular place I went to today didn't stock either of them. Will probably end up getting it from My Pet Warehouse, I'm constantly buying ferret food from there anyway, love their free shipping...

    Shop recommends bad food :(

So sad today I went into my local feed store to buy some dog food and ask what brands of rabbit food they stock. I don't even have rabbits yet (Soon hopefully :D ) but have done heaps of research into feeding. The lady reeled off a heap of different brands but kept coming back to one she called...

How big do flemish giant's actually get?

Thanks all :D Yep sounds more like what I was expecting, rather than the labrador sized ones I've seen on google, haha! I'm not surprised about their shorter lifespan too, it's the same in dogs... It's unusual for a Great Dane to live longer than 8 years. I'll have to do more research into...

How big do flemish giant's actually get?

I've been fascinated by this breed for a while now and there seem to be a lot available in my area (both from breeders and rescues). When i google them I see pictures of rabbits the size of labradors, but do they really get that big? Wikipedia says they average around 6kg, which is about...
