Good Day Everyone.

I am a brand new proud Bunny momma of a 6mth male dwarf lionhead rabbit named Smudge.

I have only had Smudge since Saturday and he has already proved to be very smart, learned how to use his ramp, figured out he could get up on the couch, and discovered the interesting properties of his crinkle bag.

I do have a questions about litter training. He seems to go anywhere. He used one corner of his cage so I put the empty corner pan there, so he used it once then went to another corner of his cage, I moved it again, so he went elsewhere. Any ideas? Should I be putting some sort of litter in there? I hate that he poops everywhere including on my couch (which he did for the third time tonight along with three other locations).

Also, he has taken to wanting to chew on the corner of the wall in my rented apartment when he is roaming free around my living room area . Is there a safe way to discourage this behaviour?

Any help / advice would be great.

:) Is Smudge neutered? you might find he's less bratty once the hormones are gone. Also check out the Lagomorph Library section of the forum. It's got some great tips for litter training and bunny proofing your home. Mine have their own shed and garden to roam around in. This hasnt stopped Roxy chewing her way thru the door of it to get to the garden, or turning the lawnmower into swiss cheese. She and her husbun do have toys and things to chew - cardboard, apple boughs, willow balls. Their litter box habits improved once they had been neutered/spayed.
