My husband just told me that the man had mentioned to him that a lot of the rabbits he had were European Rabbits? is that even a breed? I'm about to start researching :)
 
He is beautiful whatever he is!! I would guess maybe californian mix the body looks holland lop and the face looks californian!
 
Do you know how much your rabbit weighs? I agree that it resembles a Holland Lop with a lot of ear control.

Domestic rabbits are descended from wild European rabbits.

Actually, all of our pet rabbits are the same animal as the European wild rabbit Oryctolagus cunicula - not the European hare. As you can see, the wild bunnies in Europe (Scotland, in this case) look very much like agouti-colored domestic rabbits:

Although in the same family (Lagomorphs) hares are a different genus - Lepus - along with the Jackrabbits in the western United States.

Just to make things more confusing, our wild "rabbits" are actually cottontails - the Eastern Cottontail Sylvilagus floridanus being the common wild rabbit here in New York.
