I have a 2 year old lop eared bunny. Inoticed last week that he has a small patch of missing hair on hisback. Today i noticed he has a small bump about 1/2 abovethat patch. I'm wondering if this may be an absess, hasanyone had this problem? I'm worried about him but can'tafford to run to a vet right now (of course i will if i have to).

Thanks!

Although I do not have an answer to your questionI did want to welcome you to the forum and let you know that as soon asone of the bunny "gurus" see this post you should have some input fromthem, they are very helpful and well informed. Good luck with yourbunny, I hope that it is nothing serious.

I too welcome you to the forum unfortunatly likeFergi I am not oneof the rabbit gurus on the forum however I do hopeits nothing serious and hope the bunny gets thru whatevers bothering it

Bunny had an absces that had to beremoved. She was not missing any fur, but I felt a lump onher shoulder when I was petting her. It should be kind ofdefined and may have a place that would feel a little like a pea sizerock.

I don't know about the missing fur.

Welcome Aboard, Daisy,

Does it feel like it's on top of the back or deep in there a bit? Is there a hole in the center or is it a solid lump?

I'd hate to take a guess as to whether it's a lump/tumor or an abcesswithout a doctor seeing it to determine exactly what it is. Even if itis an abcess, it may have to be removed because they don't drain out.
